Taking a look at the Hogges' new boys

The Hogges have added four new players to the squad in the off-season to compensate for losses in several key positions.

Three more are set to be added in the next few weeks, with the transfers of Marlon Rojas, Chae Simmons and Raymond Beach still to be officially confirmed.

Here we take a look at the seven new faces and where they might fit into the Hogges plans this season.

Antwon Russell

The younger of the Russell brothers, Antwon is quick, fit and sharp in front of goal. He's been used in a midfield role for Dandy Town this season but will operate as a striker for the Hogges.

Russell has had trials in the States in the past and is a young player who could make a big impression at this level if he can stay focussed on the job at hand. Whether he can be the goal machine the Hogges require, remains to be seen.

Tokia Russell

The PHC man can play anywhere across the defence or in a holding midfield role.

He has always been highlighted as one of Bermuda's most talented players. Now is his chance to prove it at a higher level.

"No-one has ever doubted his talent," said Lightbourne who believes Russell has yet to fulfill his true potential.

Jamie Smith

The Hamilton Parish striker made a name for himself this season, leading from the front as the Hot Peppers surprised everyone to finish fifth.

He's impressed the Hogges coaches with his approach in training and will be the natural replacement for another big-striker John Barry Nusum.

With Stevie Astwood switching to a midfield role and Ralph Bean also sitting it out this season, he is likely to be a starter.

Marlon Rojas

The former Trinidad midfielder has been on and off the island over the past few years and despite his high profile as part of the Soca Warriors World Cup qualifying team (though he did not go on to be part of the squad for Germany 2006) he is one of the lesser known players on this squad.

Rojas excelled in the Island Soccer League and with Somerset Eagles and his touch and awareness could add a different dimension to the Hogges squad.

Keston Lewis

Another Bermuda based Trini, Lewis is one of a contingent of PHC players that have impressed Lightbourne at club level.

The 27-year-old attacking midfielder adds energy and goalscoring capability from the middle of the park

Raymond Beach

Set to come back to the team after an amazing season which saw him scoring a goal-a-game in all competitions, including 15 in the league.

If the clinical hit-man can take anything like that kind of form into the USL he could be the answer to the Hogges' goalscoring crisis.

Chae Simmons

The young Boulevard player has been linked with several U.S. clubs in the past after some good performances in the Island Soccer League. He is most likely to be used at full back.
