Burlesque in Bermuda!
Sarah Lagan
Writer/Sub-editor

Bermuda is going to be tickled pink by what is thought to be the island's first ever burlesque performance.

BIFF is opening its annual festival with a rather risqué troupe of dancers called Sugar Shack Burlesque.

But the New York performers say they will tone down their sexual antics for the sake of conservative Bermuda.

Although full nudity is illegal in New York the dancers have been known to strip off all their clothes on their regular tour across the States which takes in Massachusetts, D.C and Virginia.

Still, there may still be a few red faces in the audience. Dancer Run Around Sue told the Bermuda Sun: "We will probably go down to our tasties, little decorative tassles for your nipples and our merkins, which is like a tastie but for the bottom half.

"We do get away with liquid latex and glitter so we will see what they think of that in Bermuda!"

Sugar Shack Burlesque play alongside N.Y. band Peculiar Gentlemen at the Hamilton Princess on March 20.
