As the PLP rolled out two candidates in the east end, party leader Dr Ewart Brown expressed qualified optimism about their election chances.
"It will not be easy to unseat the incumbent in constituency number 3 [St. David's]," Dr Brown said.
He said a win in that constituency, and in Constituency 4 [St. George's South] were necessary if his overall target was to be hit.
"The only way we can reach (win) 30 seats (of 36) is to win both these seats," Dr Brown said.
Political first-timer, and 20-year St David's resident, Lovitta Foggo wil run in St. David's.
Dr Brown described her as equal to the task ahead because "she works hard."
About her chances of unseating the incumbent - the UBP's Suzann Holshouser - Ms Foggo told the Bermuda Sun, "I am very optimistic. I have a lot of support."
She said residents complained to her about the lack of a medical facility. "This did not fall on deaf ears. The government will address this issue," she said.
Attorney General, Philip Perinchief will run in St. George's South. Dr Brown said Mr Perinchief was "not shy of hard work." And PLP public relations officer, Wentworth Christopher said Mr Perinchief had a long political track record.
Though Mr Perinchief now lives in Bailey's Bay, he lived in St David's for 15 years.
He listed care for seniors, street lighting, traffic and a community centre as some priority concerns for constituents.
