Hold a yard sale and raise cancer awareness
Helen Jardine

Have you been thinking about holding a yard sale?

Are there things in your cupboards and drawers that you no longer have use for?

If so, an up-coming island-wide yard sale aimed at raising money for cancer could be your answer.

The Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre is promoting simultaneous yard sales across the island to help you reduce your clutter and raise money for cancer awareness (lung, cervical, skin, colorectal, pancreatic, and ovarian).

They are inviting you, the public, to hold a yard sale at your house, church, business or school on April 25 at 8am.

To register your yard sale print off the registration form at http://www.chc.bm/documents/YSRegistrationform.pdf by the end of March and return it via fax 236-0880 or email info@chc.bm.

The centre will confirm your registration and invite you to come and pick up your yard sale kit which includes lawn signs, hats, purple balloons, and tips for hosting a yard sale.

The registration fee is $20.

After your yard sale, you can donate either part or full proceeds to the Bermuda Cancer and Health

Centre.
