TUESDAY, JULY 15: The Ministry of Works and Engineering wishes to notify the public that residential waste collection services were affected by Tropical Storm Bertha yesterday. Instead, the focus was the collection of waste along the major roadways in an effort to minimize disruption to traffic caused by waste bins and bags being blown out onto the roads.
The public is advised that in the event that residential waste has not yet been collected, it should be taken indoors or moved from the curb.
Weather permitting, the west end collection will be completed today, Tuesday, 15th July, 2008. The east end collection will be moved from today to Wednesday, 16th July, 2008. It is expected that normal collection services will have resumed by Thursday.
The Ministry of Works and Engineering is grateful to the public for its understanding during this challenging period and apologizes for any inconvenience experienced as a result of the delayed garbage collection.
