SATURDAY, MARCH 13: A fight at Bermuda College escalated into a gun being used and a teenager being shot.
Around 1:40am today, Police received a report of gunshots at Bermuda College in Paget. It appears that during a function at the premises, a physical altercation took place between several young men.
The victim, a 16-year-old young man from Warwick, received a gunshot wound to the upper body and an injury to his head (not gunshot related).
The teenager subsequently attended KEMH and received treatment for his injuries. He was later released. A car on the premises was also damaged; it is believed the two incidents may be linked. An investigation into these matters is underway.
Supporters of Capital Punishment make the best argument on the murderers behalf. Like the murderer, a supporter of Capital Punishment believes that the taking of a life "can" be justified sometimes. Countries with Capital Punishment have many people on death row waiting to die. Capital Punishment doesn't work, the problem is most murders are not rational thinkers and fall under one of two catagories. Either they think they committed the perfect crime & will not be caught, or are so filled with rage at the time of the crime & are not thinking of the consequences. The threat of Capital Punishment only works on its rational thinking citizens who are too rational to commit a murder in the first place.

Keep in mind, though, that an eye for an eye is the same type of thinking that most "gangstas" have...natural life imprisonment is a lot more expensive, but there is always the chance that at least one of those eventually executed is actually innocent, as we have seen before overseas on rare occaisons.

hmmm
Well to get the electric chair someone would have to be apprehended and actually convicted... What are we now one for 15 in that regard?

BERMUDA TAKE NOTE:
PERHAPS YOU SHOULD GIVE MURDERS THE ELECTRIC CHAIR AS IN THE STATES. That permanetly prevents a murder from killing against, and might make some stop and think before doing the same.

Wear the Blindfold pretty close. As for your last sentence I think the nail has been hit (not quite the coffin yet).
"Gravity" ? How ironic that fruit don't fall far from the tree. Family, friends et al. It's all relative.
So who's "packin".....
I think we already know....

OMG??? C'mon Bermuda are we going to allow this? I'm sorry but behavioural correction needs to be put in place. Life for a life period. Life is sacred. We need to talk to our youth but there also needs to be severe consequences to think about as well. Jail isn't good enough I'm sorry. This is about all I can take as a citizen. These people are enemies to civilization period. Put consequences in place to make them want to be good citizens. Gravity is impartial when you jump off a cliff you know what I mean?

Really disheartening to see this going on @ the College...what next, metal detectors & more cameras in schools in order for students to feel comfortable?
