FRIDAY, MAY 4: The battle continues in Manchester for the top spot. City are in pole position but they still have two tough games in between them and top trumps.
London clubs and Newcastle are still fighting for the big Euro spots and the scrap at the bottom will come to a screeching halt next week.
Who will survive? Also, silverware is up for grabs in the FA Cup final at Wembly.
It is time to shine!
SATURDAY
Arsenal v Norwich
8:45am
No wins for either team in the past three outings. Norwich have fallen off the radar of late and Wenger will be hoping to take advantage and keep third spot for themselves.
Prediction: 2-0
Chelsea v Liverpool
1:15pm (FA Cup)
Home losses midweek for these two sides which will dent confidence ahead of their silverware hopes. This promises to be a lively affair as a good league finish looks out of reach. This is the year of cup competitions for Dalgleish and DiMatteo. Who will come out on top in the oldest association football competition in the world?
Prediction: 2-1
SUNDAY
Newcastle v Man City
9:30am
City came out on top in the huge Manchester derby and now the pendulum has swung in their direction. They are two wins away from the title. Newcastle proved they are serious contenders for a Champions League spot and will be up for the fight, especially on home soil.
Prediction: 1-2
Fulham v Sunderland
10am
Jol’s side pulled one out of the bag at Anfield and now could leapfrog the Scouse outfit with a win. Sunderland on the other hand need a win to keep their top ten finish in order.
Prediction: 1-0
QPR v Stoke
10am
Rangers got a thrashing to London rivals Chelsea with a surprise hat-trick from Torres but they havn’t lost at home since February. Hovering above the drop zone, they desperately need points.
Prediction: 1-0
Bolton v West Brom
10am
Albion don’t seem to like playing Northern teams with losses coming from Everton, United, City and Newcastle. Coyle’s men are in need of maximum points to help their survival cause.
Prediction: 1-1
Aston Villa v Tottenham
10am
Villa have been dragged into the scrap but only need one point to ensure survival. Spurs are on the Gunners tails for third spot. If Chelsea win the Champions League, fourth will earn a Europa Cup spot!
Prediction: 0-2
Wolves v Everton
10am
Wolves are already relegated but came back from 3-0 and 4-1 to draw 4-4 with a spirited performance. Moyes will be hoping for all the spoils here to finish ahead of Scouse rivals for bragging rights.
Prediction: 0-2
Man Utd v Swansea
Noon
Fergie will not be happy with his underachieving team in Monday’s derby. He played conservative in the middle and paid the price. All eyes will be on the Newcastle result before this game. The noisy neighbours are getting louder!
Prediction: 3-0
MONDAY
Blackburn v Wigan
4pm
After the weekend results it may come down to Blackburn needing to win to stay up. Wigan have been playing some of the best football we’ve seen from anyone all season. This is one to watch.
Prediction: 1-2
