FRIDAY, AUGUST 24: Two men were rescued by marine police this afternoon after their fishing boat capsized.

A police spokesperson said at 5:35pm a police boat was dispatched on a report of an 18ft fishing boat overturned in Devonshire Bay.

Two men, aged 40 and 60, were helped to shore and both appeared to be okay.

However, both men were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The fishing boat was severely damaged and sunk.

The spokesperson said: “Marine police are advising the maritime community to exercise caution when going out on the water as we are expecting very rough and unpredictable waters for the next few days.”
