MONDAY, JUNE 18: Daniel Augustus won a rain-shortened Bermuda Open on Sunday. The tournament, which started last Thursday, saw rain cancel play on both Friday and Sunday at Port Royal Golf Course.
Augustus posted on his Facebook page: "To God be the glory I'm Bermuda's Open Champion"
Augustus shot a two-round 143 (73, 70) to take the title and the $4,000 cash prize as the top professional.
One stroke back was first round leader Jordan Mitchell, who had a 69 opening round followed by a 75. Mitchell won $2,500.
The rest of the top five pros were Kevin Mumford (149, $1,500), John Denny (151, $1,000) and Dwayne Pearman (151, $1,000).
Mitchell Campbell was the top amateur men’s gross with a 151 followed by David Smith (153) and Adam Mattatall (154).
Kevin Britten was the Amateur Men Net winner with a 141 followed by Scott Barnett (146) and Johann Hunter (149).
Ann Symonds won the Amateur Ladies Gross by shooting a 178. She won by five strokes over Elizabeth Parson. Katrin Burnie was an additional stroke back.
Tracy Burgess won the Amateur Ladies net division with a 171, edging Tracy Nash by one stroke, Tariqah Walkraam was third with a 175.
The Seniors championship was reduced to one round as there was no golfing on Thursday.
Hav Trott shot a 74 to win the Gross Prizes Senior Men with Jeffrey Lindo (76) and Frankie Furbert (79) coming in second and third respectively.
Winston Trott won the Net Prizes Senior Men with a 69. Steve Hickmott and David Hunter both carded a 71 by Hickmott won on retrogression.
Gladys Lambert’s 90 was enough to edge Kathy Lloyd Hines by one stroke for the Gross Prizes Senior Ladies title. Betty Ann Sudbury shot a 93.
Retrogression was needed to determine the winner for the Net Prizes Senior Ladies as both Clare Gamble and Cindy Hardart shot a 78. Gamble took first with Hardart second. Synda Perry was third with an 84.
