WEDNESDAY, FEB. 15: There was a lot of build up and intensity leading up to the match between North Village and Robin Hood.

The top two teams from the Women’s Futsal League were supposed to be battling it out for supremacy, but they ended up battling to just stay on their feet.

North Village jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks in part to the night’s high humidity which caused slippery playing conditions on the court.

But after just five minutes and 40 seconds, officials had to postpone the match as it just wasn’t safe to be played.

The match will be rescheduled.

Aaliyah Nolan’s hat-trick helped PHC coast to this win. Nolan’s team-mates  Coyshae Fox, Kalae Hollis, Micah Pond, Mallory Towlson  each put one past the YMSC goalkeeper.

Sandra Madeiros kept YMSC from being blanked when she scored a consolation goal towards the end of the second half.

Dandy Stars One 6, Dandy Stars Two 3

The St John’s Road stablemates were playing for in-house bragging rights. Early on it looked like this match could go either way, but Stars One had an outstanding performance by Selena Thompson who lifted her club to the triumph. Thompson was the night’s high scorer with four goals.

Tia Sampson and Raini Maybury also added goals for the winners.

Jaylen Bean had two goals while Alana Burchall knocked in one in a valiant effort in the losing cause.

This was another entertaining match, with HPWC surprisingly able to hold SCC at bay for most of the first half, only conceding a single goal.

HPWC was unable to muster any real attack in the second half and SCC started to dominate possession.

Their leading scorer Jasmine Simmons was able to break down the HPWC defence to lead SCC to a hard earned victory.

Simmons had two goals while Tasia Trott had one.
