MONDAY, JULY 4: Bermuda Hogges stretched their winning streak to three games after chalking up back-to-back victories on the road against New Jersey Rangers and Ocean City Nor’easters on the weekend.

Maurice Lowe’s men celebrated their first win of the season on the road after thumping Rangers 3-0 on Friday, with all the goals arriving inside a seven-minute span.

On target for the visitors were Zeiko Lewis, sub Shakir Smith and captain Keishen Bean.

The margin of victory could’ve been even wider. But Bermuda international Damon Ming failed to convert from the penalty spot after his effort struck the woodwork.

Hogges then claimed their third win on the trot after Kwame Steede’s first-half strike earned them a 1-0 against Nor’easters yesterday.

The back-to-back wins catapulted the local Premier Development League (PDL) from eighth to fifth in the nine-team Mid Atlantic Division, with 11 points from 10 matches.

Winless in their first seven matches, the Hogges’ fortunes have taken a turn for the better since last month’s inspiring 2-1 home win against Westchester Flames.

“Having that first victory out of the way has given the players more determination,” coach Lowe told the Bermuda Sun.

“It’s a big relief. Everyone likes to win and wants to feel that good feeling again.”

Hogges will face lowly Central Jersey Spartans on Wednesday before closing out a four- match road trip against high-flying Reading United on Friday.
