FRIDAY, FEB. 10: Alain Jean Pierre said the National Sports Centre is in good shape to host the Lima Carifta Games in April with just some minor changes needed.

He is the technical delegate for the games who was in Bermuda earlier this week to check on the readiness of the NSC. Jean Pierre said: “I like what I’ve seen. There are some little things that have to be changed, have to be adapted, but there is time to be ready.” He said the pit for the triple and long jump needs to be fixed, but feels that is a minor change.

He added the room for the drug tests needs a slight upgrade and the technical information centre (TIC) needs to be decided upon.

The TIC is where all the results come in and the countries can be picked up.

“If there is a protest, that’s where the coaches have to go. The technical centre is the brain of the competition.”
