WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13: A British man has died after a collision between a rental scooter and a car this afternoon.

The 37-year-old man died in hospital after his bike was in collision with a car on Harbour Road in Paget.

The man, who has not yet been named by police, was rushed to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital but died of his injuries.

A 36-year-old UK woman passenger on the scooter was also taken to hospital, but she is understood to have suffered only minor injuries.

The collision happened around 3:.35pm today, between the junctions of Manse Road and Chapel Road with Harbour Road.

Officers investigating the crash sealed off the scene and diverted traffic o to Middle Road, but the road has since been reopened.

The death is the second road fatality of the year.
