WEDNESDAY, JANAURY 9: The Bermuda Hotel Association Annual Job Fair will be held on Friday.

The fair is being held in partnership with the Minister of Home Affairs and the restaurant division of the Chamber of Commerce.

It will start at 10am until 2pm at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.

John Harvey, CEO of the association said: “The BHA members are keen to identify Bermudians who are willing and able to fill the various jobs that are required for the 2013 tourism season and encourage all those who have an interest to attend.

“We believe that this is an important part of the hiring process for the hotels and restaurants in 2013 and are delighted once again to partnership with the Ministry of Home Affairs.”

Michael Fahy, Minister of Home Affairs said: “Without questions, we have a considerable unemployment issue that we must tackle and this government, in partnership with our stakeholders, is committed to getting Bermudians back to work.

“Considerable effort has gone into showcasing this hospitality jobs' event and the Ministry encourages those Bermudians seeking employment to attend so they can find out firsthand what job opportunities are available to them.”

Two years ago, hundreds of Bermudians stood in line at the fair to fill out applications for various jobs.

At that time, Mr Harvey said it was the largest turnout the fair has ever had.
