The holiday season is just around the corner. It’s a magical time when the sights, sounds and spirit of the season lift us out of our everyday lives.

It is a cherished time of year as people reconnect with loved ones to share in traditions, while creating new memories.

Whether you’ve lived here all your life or are new to the island, the Fairmont Hamilton Princess has a variety of festivities to help you celebrate in style.

With its grand lobby, featuring a twinkling Christmas tree and the hotel’s famous gingerbread house, a trip to the Fairmont Hamilton Princess is a must over the holidays.

“With the spectacular decor and the lobby bustling with children excited to see Santa, the hotel truly comes alive during the holiday season,” said Rehanna Palumbo, director of sales and marketing.

“We’d love for people to visit us and share in this special time of year.”

There is nothing more traditional than afternoon tea and this year the hotel continues the favourite family holiday custom of hosting a Teddy Bear Tea each afternoon between 2:30pm and 5pm in Heritage Court, December 1-24.

Snow Ball

Santa also enjoys afternoon tea and on Saturdays and Sundays, takes time out of his busy holiday schedule for storytelling.

As the holidays are a time for giving, children are encouraged to bring a new teddy bear or other stuffed friend, which will be donated to various Bermuda charities for families in need.

You don’t need snowfall for a snow ball. And you don’t need an expensive holiday party to celebrate the season with your colleagues.

Even in this challenging economy, small to medium-sized businesses can get into the holiday spirit at the annual Snow Ball Party, held this year on December 9.

Held in the Harbourview Ballroom, guests can enjoy a sumptuous buffet and entertainment against the backdrop of festive decor.

What could be better than spending a relaxing Christmas Day enjoying a feast that you don’t have to cook?

The Fairmont Hamilton Princess is hosting a lavish brunch from 11:30am to 3:30pm and gala dinner from 6pm to 9pm on December 25.

Spend time with your loved ones at the table instead of in the kitchen.

On New Year’s Eve, you can enjoy dinner followed by comedy and music from entertainer Jimmy Keys.

For a more low-key celebration, enjoy dinner at Harley’s followed by live music and champagne toasts in Heritage Court.

Why not start the year off right with a brunch in Harley’s on New Year’s Day?

With the celebrations through the holidays, booking a room for the night at the hotel is a popular option for many locals.

Create a mini vacation by including an overnight stay as part of the ‘Take the Elevator Home’ promotion.

Fairmont Christmas Gift Cards are also available for treating someone special to the magic of the holidays at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess.
