THURSDAY, JAN. 26: A teenager, who was allegedly found with hundreds of dollars of jewellery, today denied stealing.

Marcus Tucker was charged with entering a Roberts Avenue home as a trespasser on January 23 and stealing a BlackBerry cell phone, two crash helmets and a quantity of jewellery, total value $2,709.49.

The court heard Mr Tucker was seen running in the area by police at a nearby home.

Crown counsel Susan Mulligan told the court he allegedly tried to hide in a porch, but police found him.

He allegedly had a large quantity of jewellery including rings and bracelets, a BlackBerry and two helmets.

The defendant told the officer he found the jewellery in a bandana.

He is on bail for receiving stolen goods and will face trial in March and is on probation for a separate matter.

The matter was adjourned to March 1 and Mr Tucker was remanded into custody.
