FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7: Island Press has a new sales executive who is focused on providing quality service at competitive prices.

Chris Mitchell was hired as a commercial print sales executive earlier this year and says the company is “client sensitive” and willing to work with people to get the best products.

Island Press, which falls under the MediaHouse umbrella, is a sister company to the Bermuda Sun.

Mr Mitchell began his career as a print apprentice in the UK and then worked at Bermuda Press for 25 years.

“Island Press is the only Bermudian company that offers large format lithographic printing.

“We also have digital printing using state of the art Xerox equipment supplied from A. F. Smith.”

He continued: “We are very client sensitive. Before printing anywhere else . . . come see us.

“If there’s a rush job, we will do what it takes to get it out with quality and prompt delivery. We try to do what you want, when you want it.”

Mr Mitchell said one of the reasons he left Bermuda Press is because they send items overseas to be printed.

He said the RG magazine and Bottom Line were both printed in the US.

“It’s undermining a manufacturing company because there aren’t many in Bermuda. It’s much more convenient printing here.

“We have to tell people we print here. It’s something we have to let people know.”

Mr Mitchell said Island Press is committed to competing with overseas prices while providing a timely, quality product.

Mr Mitchell visits clients, advises them on the best layouts and techniques.

“We work with everyone.  It could be a guy that walks in off the street with a business card or an exempt company’s annual report and everything in between.
