SUNDAY, JANUARY 22: Bermuda and its notorious triangle is to feature in a new film.

Bermuda, written by UK horror duo Bobby Lee Darby and Nathan Brookes, is a “found footage” movie in the style made popular by The Blair Witch Project, which became a box office sensation when it was released in 1999.

The film focuses on a documentary film crew that goes missing in the Bermuda Triangle – with the only clues to the mystery disappearance in the film footage that charts their last days.

The rights to distribute the film have been bought up by WWE Studios, the movie-making arm of the worldwide wrestling promoters, it was reported on Saturday.

The writing pair behind the project also penned the script for Slaughter, a film paying homage to cult Japanese horror films, which in 2007 won a Horror Screenplay award at the Slamdance film festival for new talent, held annually in Utah, USA.

WWE studios president Michael Luisi, quoted on Deadline Hollywood, said: “The Bermuda Triangle has always been an intriguing and mysterious setting.

“Bobby and Nathan’s script puts a very unique spin on the found footage genre.”
