At approximately 10:00am on Thursday April 10th, the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a Vehicle Fire on Pompano Beach Road, Sandy’s.  

Fire Service spokesperson Leonard Davis stated that “the vehicle was reported to have visible smoke and flames emitting from the engine compartment.” 

The Fire Service responded to the incident with one vehicle staffed with 4 firefighters.  

Prior to the Fire Services arrival, a Port Royal  Golf Course staff member quickly extinguished the fire using a dry chemical powder extinguisher.  No one was hurt as a result of this incident. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
