MONDAY, APRIL 9: Bermuda’s 200-metre CARIFTA athletes endured a tough morning at the National Stadium today.

Sprinter Kyle Webb just missed out on a place in tonight’s boys under 20 final.

Webb finished third in his heat in a time of 22.01 seconds, which was the 12th fastest time.

Meanwhile Bermudian Scott Clarke also missed out on a place in the final of the 200 metres.

Clarke finished fifth in his heat in a time of 22.21 seconds.

Delano Williams, of Turks and Caicos, recorded the fastest time in the heats of 21.14 seconds and looks a good bet for this evening’s final.

But he will be chased hard by Bahamians Blake Bartlett and Teray Smith, who also won their heats.

Meanwhile in the girls under 20 200-metre dash Bermuda’s Dajoune Trott also failed to make the finals.

She finished fifth in her heat at a time of 25.95.

The under 20 girls 200 metre event looks set to be dominated by Bahamian athletes Shaunae Miller and Anthonique Strachan, who won their heats convincingly.
