WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 3: While the sixth annual BeachFest at Horseshoe Bay was marred by a small pocket of violence, the event receieved rave reviews on leading Caribbean festival review and awareness website
www.trinijunglejuice.com
.
The reviewer wrote: “There were over 10,000 beautiful people from all walks of the planet and all stations in life...everyone was respecting and loving each other for who they are.” The BeachFest scored 98 per cent on a system rating the Caribbean’s festivals including Bacchanal Jamaica which scored 90 per cent, Cayman Carnival Batabano Parade (92 per cent), The St Vincent J’Ouvert (76 per cent) and the St Lucia Carnival (73 per cent).
The BeachFest took place over two days this year starting on Wednesday night at which international reggae star Mr Vegas headlined (pictured). Thursday’s event attracted record numbers of guests — organizers estimate up to 11,000 despite the event being closed early due to fighting.
