The Bermudian Publishing Company is expecting people to return time after time to search their archives on their new interactive website — TheBermudian.com.

The new website showcases all the content of the current Fall issue of The Bermudian magazine, but it also features a category on the main navigation bar called “From Our Archives” which boasts a huge selection of images and articles taken from The Bermudian magazine’s archives, dating back to their very first issue in February 1930.

Publisher Tina Stevenson said: “We are thrilled with our new content-rich website and delighted to be able to open the doors to our archives and share it with all of Bermuda — and indeed the world.

“Readers will see more and more content added every quarter when the next magazine publishes.”

With the Spring issue in March of this year, The Bermudian launched its first digital version of the magazine and the most recent issue now sits on the site. Viewers can read the magazine in its entirety online and can now also access past digital issues.

In addition, Ms Stevenson said the interactive website has functions that will keep readers coming back on a daily basis with features such as the Editors Blog used for news and noteworthy items, the Events Calendar where the community can announce their events and upload their own photo, and even Milestones where people can share important birth, engagement, wedding and death announcements with photos.

Return trips

She added: “In addition to wanting to share the masses of great articles and fabulous photography The Bermudian magazine is so well known for, we also want the website to be a place where Bermudians and Bermuda-philes will return time and time again to learn and share everything from a truly Bermudian recipe (in the Recipes section) or photos of a recent charity event (in the popular Afternoon and Evening section), to the all important birth announcement (in Milestones) and what’s fresh on the farm stands (Editors Blog).

“From our awards, to our in-depth heritage articles, hilarious columns about life in Bermuda and important locals featured throughout, we believe the new TheBermudian.com truly is the source of all that is best about Bermuda and we are proud to finally be able to share it with everyone—both here and abroad.”
