The new music venue was packed with music lovers and well wishers.

The spirit  of Hubie’s jazz club was alive at Shine’s last night as a local mature crowd packed out the new music venue.

Shine’s, owned by Shine Hayward, held its opening night Wednesday night. As well as enjoying a visit from the Premier Dr. Ewart Brown and Opposition Leader Kim Swan, Shine’s was filled with well wishers, music lovers and musicians alike. Shine’s son, comedian Nadanja Bailey was behind the bar serving up the drinks and the musically talented Caisey family were present. Dennis Fox and Clarence ‘Toostie’ Bean were the first to perform. Others included Spirit (the house band for Hubie’ s, which used to be on Angle Street before its closure last year) Toni Robinson and Andrew Chamberlain.

Mr. Hayward hosted the night, addressing the audience and introducing the various musicians who took to the stage. Shine’s is situated at 91 Reid Street and is open from Tuesday to Saturday.
