THURSDAY, APRIL 21: Two Regiment soldiers appeared in Magistrates’ Court charged with missing days they were due to serve.

John Holland, 22 was charted with missing 25 occasions between October 15 and March 29.

Davon Daniels, 24 was charged with missing 75 occasions between February 3, 2007 and March 29 of this year.

Asked to address the court, Holland said: “I just want to say I’m sorry for taking up any time and I realise the mistake I made and I’m working hard to make up the days.

“I have been showing up to Warwick Camp to work.

“By May 4, I should be making up the time.”

Daniels said: “I want to apologise for my actions and since I turned myself in, I have been turning up to camp.”

Senior Magistrate Archibald gave both men a three-month prison sentence suspended for 24 months.
