SUNDAY, APRIL 24: Premier Paula Cox and her husband will attend the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.
Premier Cox said: “Women can empathise with the love story” between Prince William and Miss Middleton.
Premier Paula A. Cox JP and her husband, Germain Nkeuleu, have received and accepted an invitation from Buckingham Palace to attend the Royal Wedding.
On the day of the wedding, guests will be invited to board one of the coaches provided by the Palace for departure to Westminster Abbey where they will await the bridal procession commencing at 11am.
The Premier said: “I am pleased that Bermuda was recognised, provided with an invitation and is being represented on this occasion.
“Clearly this will be a wedding with a difference- It has the wow factor.
“As a woman you feel a kinship with the idea that love has trumped the odds despite the differences in background. Many of us as women can empathise with the love story. This is certainly one of my less arduous duties.”
The night before the wedding the Premier will attend a dinner hosted by the Secretary of State of Foreign Affairs and Mrs. Hague. The couple will also host a post-wedding reception at Lancaster House.
A special wedding book will be available for signing by the residents of Bermuda.
Members of the public are encouraged to sign the congratulatory book from Monday, April 25 through Wednesday, April 27 between the hours of 9am and 5pm at the Cabinet Office.
This special wedding book celebrating the marriage, and offering greetings and well best wishes from the people of Bermuda, will be presented to Buckingham Palace as a gift to the Royal couple.
