The world’s biggest private yacht today steamed out of Bermuda.

The Eclipse – owned by billionaire Russian and Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich – spent nearly two weeks cruising around the island.

The multi-million dollar motor yacht left Hamilton Harbour after spending several days moored in the capital.

The ship earlier visited St George’s and also dropped anchor at Salt Kettle.

Island residents flocked to photograph the yacht, which is equipped with two helicopter landing pads, two swimming pools, 24 luxury guest cabins and an onboard disco.

It is also said to be equipped with armour plating and bullet proof glass on the bridge and in the master suite used by Mr Abramovich.

It is also reported to be fitted with an anti-paparazzi shield using lasers, which sweep the surrounding area and lock on to charge-coupled devices like cameras, shining a laser beam directly at them to prevent photographs.

Eclipse was launched in 2009 and underwent tests in Denmark before being delivered to Mr Abramovich in late 2010.
