THURSDAY, MARCH 1: Three new cases were mentioned in the monthly arraignments session today including drug smuggling, robbery and wounding.

Kenneth Jamel Zuill, 39, denied conspiracy to import cannabis between a date unknown and October 21, 2010 with Michelle Gibbons, Mary Johnson and others not before the court.

Mr Zuill was bailed and his trial date was set for August 20.

Ezra Ezzard Williams, 27, Ezra Mark Ararat, 25, and Zharrin Simmons, 20, denied robbing Kenneth Williams of a cell phone and Victoria DeCoute of jewellery on August 21.

The trio also denied having a knife in their possession in a public place, within 300 metres of Elliott Primary School.

The matter was set for trial on July 9.

Mr Williams and Mr Ararat were remanded into custody while Ms Simmons was given bail.

Finally, Ridge Mello-Sousa, 20, denied unlawfully wounding Kewunde Bean with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm on December 15.

His co-accused, Jamel Richardson, had his plea deferred until the next arraignment session to determine if he is fit for trial.

A trial date was set for May 14.

Mr Mello-Sousa was bailed and Mr Richardson was remanded into custody.
