THURSDAY, FEB, 10, 5.30pm: Buses will not run if Government does not respond to a proposal tabled by unionized bus operators.

Bermuda Industrial Union President Christ Furbert said bus drivers are awaiting word from Government on the proposal, which was tabled this afternoon and is about a fired employee.

At a meeting with the unionized drivers, Mr. Furbert said if they don’t hear back from Government by 6pm today, workers will go home and reassembly at 8am tomorrow.

Bus drivers went on strike after a driver was fired for calling in sick and being caught working on another job.
