FRIDAY, AUGUST 3: Police are still appealing for witnesses to a collision that took place on Wednesday Pitts Bay Rd & Roxdene Lane.
Details on this incident are sketchy at this point; however it appears that a 59 year old visitor from Alabama was walking when he was hit by a motorcycle that was travelling on Pitts Bay Road. The man was rushed to KEMH where he is still listed in critical condition with serious head injuries.
Police are asking for any witnesses to this collision, especially anyone who may have seen the victim (a white male balding, with light colored clothing approximately 5’8-5’10 of solid/stocky build) walking along Pitts Bay Road between 10:45pm and 11:10pm.

A 27 year old man is still in police custody after being arrested for driving whilst impaired in connection to this matter.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 2, 3:35PM UPDATE: An American tourist was walking in the area of Pitts Bay Road and Roxdene Lane in Pembroke last night when he was hit by a motorcycle.
Police said the 59-year-old man was visiting from Alabama.
He suffered serious head injuries and is in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
This afternoon, a police spokesman said: "A 27 year old man was arrested for suspicion of driving whilst impaired in connection with the collision."
In a statement this morning police said that details of the accident, which happened around 11:10pm yesterday, "are sketchy at this point."
They are asking witnesses to call 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
Police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen the victim walking along Pitts Bay Road between 10:45pm and 11:10pm.
He is described as:
- a white male
- light colored clothing
- approximately 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins
- solid/stocky build.
