SATURDAY, APRIL 21: Hundreds of Bermudians attended the final day of the 74th Agricultural Exhibition today.
There were dozens of families with small children being pushed in strollers or holding mommy and daddy’s hand.
And American Idol season two winner Ruben Studdard was seen at the Exhibition, perhaps taking in the local sights before his performance tomorrow night at the Luther Vandross tribute concert.
Children buzzed around the entire venue looking at animals in their cages, checking out the show in the main ring, admiring flowers and so much more.
And there was a ton of activities for the kids to do.
From jumping in the fun castle, face painting, temporary tattoos, inflatable basketball and football games and so much more.
As for the food, one could never run out of options unless you were looking for healthy fare.
There were hot dogs, French fries, burgers, fried fish, shrimp and endless dessert varieties including cotton candy, mini donuts, ice cream and snowballs.
The cotton candy and donut stands seemed to have never ending lines, as they were the more popular food items.
The lower ring seemed to be where all the action was this afternoon with dancers shimmying to reggae, pop and soca music.
They had the crown jumping with their smooth moves and catchy beats.
The main ring had horse jumping and skills, a more traditional event.
Overall, the entertainment level didn’t seem to be as good as previous years.
One woman who wanted to remain anonymous said it wasn’t right to have to pay to get in and not have quality entertainment.
Government announced earlier this week all the talent for the Exhibition would be local.
There was singing, dancing, a drum line, Zumba demonstration and much more over the three-day event.
Despite a lack of overseas talent, the weather was absolutely gorgeous for the Exhibition.
Today was by far the warmest of the three days with clear blue skies all day.
Overall, the Exhibition is an event that families will return to year after year because it is probably the only strictly family friendly event on the social calendar.
And it has fun for everyone.
