WEDNESDAY, MAY 30: CedarBridge Academy Alumni Association hosted its first ever Homecoming Convocation which was titled “The 1st Coming Together”.

In attendance was principal Kalmar Richards, deputy principals, faculty members and students along with five alumni that were being honoured for their achievements.

The Alumni Association focused the convocation on highlighting the many accomplishments of the school and its former students.

Alumni Chairman, Dr Kyjuan Brown, told students: “What I came here to tell you today is, you must not bring embarrassment to this school of excellence or to me. “And when I say me, it means the alumni. This is personal.

“Students of excellence, you have no choice but to succeed as there are graduates who have achieved all measure of success whether it is in academics, sport or the arts.”

Dr Brown explained to the students that there are many sceptics within the Bermudian society who question the abilities of CBA’s educational structure to successfully develop Bermuda’s future leaders.

Though there are sceptics, CedarBridge Academy continues to achieve increased graduation rates.

“CedarBridge Academy is not a one hit wonder. Most of our graduates are able to transition from Students of Excellence to Graduates of Excellence.”
At the convocation, the Alumni Association honoured five “graduates of excellence”.  These were individuals who have made great strides internationally and in the Bermudian society.  Those who honoured were:
