FRIDAY, MAY 25: Police have arrested two men over the past 36 hours on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Around 2am today, police were patrolling The Lane in Paget when they noticed a car travelling erratically. Officers pursued the vehicle and stopped it near the north roundabout.

Police said they approached the driver, a 25-year-old Pembroke man, who appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained in police custody.

An earlier offence occurred around 3:40am on Bermuda Day when police in Devonshire noticed a car travelling erratically.

Officers pursued the vehicle and stopped it on Middle Road near the junction with Fort Hill Road.

They approached the driver, a 28-year-old Devonshire man, who appeared to be intoxicated.

He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He later failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody.

Court appearances are anticipated in both cases.
