MONDAY, JULY 23: A 19-year-old man today admitted handling a gun.

Minutes before his trial was due to start in Supreme Court, Darrion Simons pleaded guilty to handling a firearm, a Smith and Wesson pistol, on November 5 last year.

He also admitted handling five .38-calibre cartridges.

Simons was remanded into custody pending sentencing.

A social inquiry report was ordered and the matter was adjourned until the September arraignment session.
