MONDAY, MAY 14: A Paget man appeared in court today accused of receiving thousands of dollars worth of stolen jewellery.
Kenton Butterfield-Smith, 24, was charged with five counts of dishonestly receiving five gold chains, three gold pendants and three gold bracelets with a total value of $33,050 between a date unknown and June 16,2011.
Mr Butterfield-Smith was also charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice by contacting Kershawn Santucci and offering him $300 to withdraw a theft complaint.
The defendant denied all of the charges.
He was given $10,000 bail with one surety. His trial is set for August 31.
