The Minister responsible for financial assistance, in exercise of the power conferred by section 21 of the Financial Assistance Act 2001, makes the following Regulations:
Citation
1These Regulations may be cited as the Financial Assistance Amendment Regulations 2012.
Amends regulation 3A
2In regulation 3A of the Financial Assistance Regulations 2004 (special category persons), after paragraph (2) insert—
“(2A)In a case where a person who is 65 years or over holds any interest in real property (whether located in Bermuda or elsewhere), the value of that interest (or those interests, where more than one) shall not be included in calculating the value of his assets and investments for the purposes of paragraph (2)(b)(i).”
Commencement
3These Regulations come into operation on 1 April 2012.
