PRIVATE INVESTIGATORS AND SECURITY GUARDS AMENDMENT

REGULATIONS 2011

The Governor, in exercise of the power conferred by section 16 of the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act 1974, makes the following Regulations:

Citation

1 These Regulations may be cited as the Private Investigators and Security Guards Amendment Regulations 2011.

Amends regulation 3

2 Regulation 3 of the Private Investigators and Security Guards Regulations 1974 (in these Regulations referred to as “the principal Regulations”) is amended by deleting paragraph (2) and substituting the following paragraphs—

“(2) An application for a licence or the renewal of a licence shall be made at the Police Headquarters in such manner as the Commissioner may determine.

(2A) No application for a licence or the renewal of a licence shall be

considered unless the appropriate fee prescribed under the Government Fees Act 1965 has been paid.”.

Amends regulation 4

3 Regulation 4(1) of the principal Regulations is amended by inserting “or the renewal of a licence” next after the word “licence”.

Amends regulation 5

4 Regulation 5 of the principal Regulations is amended by inserting “a licence or the renewal of a licence for” next after the word “for”.

Inserts regulation 5A

5 The principal Regulations are amended by inserting the following regulation next after regulation 5—

“Register

5A The particulars which the Commissioner shall cause to be kept and maintained in the Register under section 9A of the Act shall include the following—

(a) date of birth of the licensee;

(b) current address of the licensee;

(c) dates of training;

(d) licence number;

(e) name of company (employer) where applicable;

(f) dates of renewal of licence.”.
