The Collector of Customs, in exercise of the power conferred by section 16 of the Revenue Act 1898, issues the following Notice:

Citation

1 This Notice may be cited as the Customs Traveller Declaration Amendment Notice 2012.

Amends paragraph 1

2 Paragraph 1 of the Customs Traveller Declaration Notice 2010 (in this Notice referred to as “the principal Notice”) is revoked and the following paragraph is substituted—

“Citation

1 This Notice may be cited as the Revenue (Customs Traveller Declaration) Notice 2010.”.

Substitutes paragraph 3

3 Paragraph 3 of the principal Notice is revoked and the following paragraph is substituted—

“Requirement to make a customs traveller declaration

3 A person who is leaving or arrives in Bermuda is required to make the customs traveller declaration prescribed in the following paragraphs.”.

Amends First Schedule

4 The First Schedule to the principal Notice is amended in Part 1 by deleting Item B paragraph 17 and substituting the following—

“17. Print the aggregate Bermuda dollar value of any goods—

(a) for which the duty specified in the First Schedule of the Customs Tariff Act 1970 is 0%; or

(b) in respect of which you are claiming transfer of residence duty-free allowance, that you have to declare.”.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

PITTS BAY ROAD, PEMBROKE 

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that Pitt’s Bay Road will be temporarily closed to all motor vehicles from Woodbourne Avenue to the entrance of Miles Market, off Pitt’s Bay Road, on Sunday 22nd January 2012 from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The road closure is necessary to allow the safe removal of a tower crane by BCM McAlpine.

Motorists travelling towards Hamilton along Pitt’s Bay Road, before reaching this worksite, will be diverted along Rosemont Avenue and Richmond Road.

Motorists travelling away from Hamilton along Pitt’s Bay Road, before reaching this worksite, will be diverted along Woodbourne Avenue and Richmond Road. 

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
