VISITORS to Horseshoe Bay will have to put up with ongoing work on its sewage facility for the next three weeks.

Works and Engineering has contracted a crew to expand the holding capacity for sewage at the washroom facility. A cab driver, who did not wish to be named, called the Bermuda Sun to question the ministryâs timing.

ãAll off-season there were complaints about sewage running out, but they decided not to do anything until the Monday that the cruise ships came in. There are now trucks up there with three bulldozers and they dug a hole there twice the size of a tank. Today they are working at it and the smell is coming up and we have 1,000 people from the cruise ships. Why do it this week when they had all year and season has opened?ä he asked.

An official with the Ministry of Works and Engineering told us he would try to find out why the work did not take place in the off-season. He did not get back to us by press time.
