WEDNESDAY. JULY 11: Selected models from the Evolution Fashion Show have won various opportunities in the industry.

Capital G chose Orlando Lovell as male top model and Ava Braddock as female. They won $1,000 in a Capital G account. Gibbons also chose five models who who have been given modelling contracts at the store for a year.

Wilhelmina Models are also in the process of selecting various local models  for contracts with them.

Some 150 models took to the 80 foot runway featuring 23 retailers and hair by four salons.

The show was part of the City f Hamilton’s Fashion Festival that began earlier this month with Mannequin Monday. Participating retailers and salons had live models in their windows as mannequins.

On Sunday there was a special masterclass for models which included international guest from Wilhelmina Models Paul Nelson. He talked about what is needed to be a model in today’s professional fashion industry and provided instruction on how to walk the runway.

Bermudian international model Darius Dio discussed the industry from a model’s perspective while world renowned make-up artist Christopher Vee of CV Make Up gave tips on application.

JaKoma’s Lamont Robinson talked about how to evolve in the local modelling scene.

The festival celebrated American Independence Day at Harbour Nights with local hair stylists and make-up artists showcasing their work.
