WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13: Jackson School of Performing Arts presents its 58th annual dance recital starting next week.

Director Jeanne Legere said this year’s show, Dancing Through the Universe, has proved to be a “creatively inspiring theme” for both the teachers and students.

It will be performed at the City Hall Theatre from June 20 to 23 at 7pm.

Mrs Legere said: “The earth, moon, stars, planets and almost anything related to our universe have been woven into the choreography of the show.

“Dancers of all ages will take part in the show from very young beginners to our more seasoned dancers.

“We are pleased that we now have 14 boys who will rock the house with a Robotic hip hop piece.”

The show will be family friendly with “age-appropriate music”, Mrs Legere said.

“We are passionate about broadening our dancers' exposure to all forms of music, contemporary, pop, hip hop and of course classical.

“Age-appropriate music, choreography and costumes are a priority at the Jackson School.

“The Jackson School has a true family atmosphere and like a family provides a disciplined, supportive environment for all of its students.”
