THURSDAY, FEB. 16: The Bermuda Department of Tourism (BDOT) is gearing up for the arrival of Canadian and American university students for the first Spring Break event which begins this weekend and continues through February 25.

The BDOT announced the reinstatement of Spring Break last year and has heavily promoted it through various social media outlets.

Bermudian students studying in Canada and the US were asked to participate by promoting the Island as a perfect destination to escape the cold North American winter for their spring break. And over the course of next week, visiting and local students will participate in a host of parties, activities and cruises specially designed for them.

The Minister of Business Development and Tourism Wayne Furbert said, “Postings on the various social media sites have created a great deal of buzz and excitement for the return of Spring Break in Bermuda.”

Minister Furbert added, “Our Bermudian students have helped us promote Bermuda as a very viable and accessible destination for the college break. What we have organised on-Island are fun and very age-appropriate events for the students to enjoy.”

BDOT with the support of Pitt & Company, Spanish Town Entertainment, CellularOne and Coco Reef Resort will offer exciting, great promotional giveaways as well as discounts at participating restaurants and attractions at all Spring Break events.

Passes for the events are free for all students currently enrolled in college or university, including the Bermuda College, with valid college identification.

Non-students, 18-years or older, can participate in the events by purchasing a Spring Break pass at Coco Reef Resort for $100.
The event pass will provide access to all Spring Break events.

An event passes can be pre-ordered online at www.gotobermuda.com/springbreak.

The events schedule will be repeated for the second and third weeks of Spring Break, March 3-9 and 10-16.

The following events will take place beginning on Saturday, February 18:

• “Party on the Rock” at Horseshoe

• Three Olives Boat Cruise

• “How Loko Can You Go” Pool Party at Coco Reef
