WEDNESDAY, JULY 18: An art exhibition inspired by the “playful and fluid” works of Summer Wood opens at Common Ground Café tomorrow evening.

Summer Lovin’ features all new work by Summer Wood as well as 15 other local artists.

Curator Sue Pearson says: “One Sunday evening last year I enjoyed a particular exhibition opening at the Art Centre at Dockyard.

“There, I was switched on to Summer’s pigment saturated yet ethereal collection of aquatic life on canvas.”

As well as Wood’s work, there will be a modern series of oils by Michelle Lindo entitled Full Sail North Shore, Warm Nights and Sunset Sail, and Sands of Time; a colourful abstraction of a banana tree by pastel artist Vanessa Turner; melted wax on canvas by Kate Anfossi; and water views by Alice Coutet.

Other artists are Sue Pearson; Jackie Stevenson; Wynne Colley; Kelly Howe; Nicole Beidleman; Milton Hill; Ami Zanders; Catherine and Barbara Finsness; Cathy Pereira and Mark Henderson.

This multi media exhibition opens from 5:30-7pm at Common Ground Café, 11 Chancery Lane, Hamilton.
