WEDNESDAY, JULY 4: Tickets are now on sale for the 10-day performing arts intensive Bermuda Glee taking place on Sunday.
The intensive is presented by the Argo Foundation for students aged between 14 and 18-years-old.
There will be two Bermuda Glee performances at The Berkeley Institute at 2pm and 6pm.
This year, 62 students and five teachers from the public and private school system have been working together to prepare original pieces of musical theatre that the students have created themselves.
Seven of the students have been working with Shaw Festival Technical Director Don Finlayson to build skills in lighting and sound design and other aspects of providing backstage management. Noted Bermudian musician and producer John Woolridge helped the students to choose music for their presentations and to arrange vocals.
According to a Bermuda Glee spokeswoman: “The programme is designed to encourage collaboration and partnership in an effort to break down some of the barriers that separate the community.”
Last year’s performances were sellouts events and garnered wide acclaim from the community.
Tickets are available at www.ptix.bm. All tickets are $15 plus a $2 service and handling charge. Tickets to Bermuda Glee are only available online. There will be no tickets sold at the door and no Will Call.
Bermuda Glee students will be the opening act at tonight’s Harbour Nights festival. Students will perform ‘Seasons of Love’ from the hit Broadway musical Rent.
