FRIDAY, SEPT 7: Ace meteorologist and Weather Channel star reporter Jim Cantore is in Bermuda this weekend to cover Hurricane Leslie.
He’s been covering storms since 1992’s Hurricane Andrew, and has been to Bermuda several times before, including a visit in September 2010 to report on Hurricane Igor.
He has also covered Hurricanes Florence and Bill.
He landed in Bermuda shortly after 3pm and was immediately at work covering Leslie — which is currently a Tropical Storm.
This afternoon, Mr Cantore tweeted: “Beautiful turquoise waters of John Smith's Bay on the south shore of Bermuda. Waves from Leslie pounding the shore.”
He also had a brief chat with OBA Senator Michael Dunkley and the pair had a photo taken together.
