SUNDAY, SEPT. 9, 9PM UPDATE: Tropical storm Leslie has now moved well to the north east of Bermuda, according to forecasters.
At 9pm today a Tropical Storm Warning was still in force on the island.
But the Bermuda Weather Service stated that the storm, which brought heavy rain and strong winds to Bermuda earlier in the day, was now 167 nautical miles north east of the island.
The latest update from the National Hurricane Center suggests that the storm will be near to Newfoundland by Tuesday.
The BWS stated earlier on Sunday evening: "Showers, with a chance of thunder remains as Leslie moves northward.
"Winds will slowly begin to decrease early this evening as Leslie accelerates north-northeast and strengthens. Hazardous surf and rip currents continue into Monday."
