A NEW movie on the Bermuda Triangle is scheduled to be released in August of next year, but it will not be filmed in Bermuda.

The Triangle, starring Luke Perry (Beverly Hills 90210, Oz), Dan Cortese (Veronicaâs Closet), Olivia dâAbo (The Wonder Years) and Dorian Harewood (12 Angry Men) have been cast for an original movie for the TBS Superstation (Channel 46 on Cablevision in Bermuda).

The movie is about a group of friends who go fishing and as they enter the Bermuda Triangle they find an ocean liner long thought sunk. The trip turns into a voyage of terror as their friendships shatter as they turn against each other.

The filming began last month in Barbados and no part of the movie is expected to be filmed in Bermuda.

Jim Head, senior vice president of original programming for the Superstation, said ãthis is a spooky thriller that follows in the spirit of The Shining.ä

The Triangle is being directed by Lewis Teague (Cujo) and executive-produced by actor Chris OâDonnell (executive producer and star of The Bachelor), Orly Adelson (On Hostile Ground), Bing Howenstein (The Bachelor) and3 J.J. Jamieson (The Time Shifters). The movie, from George Street Productions and Orly Adelson Productions, is written by Ted Humphrey from a story.

Dan Cortese is perhaps best known for his role on Veronicaâs Closet, but many Bermudians know him from when he participated in the Samuel L. Jackson Charity Golf Tournament a few years back.

He first gained fame as the host of MTV Sports.

Olivia dâAbo starred in two television series, The Wonder Years and The Single Guy, as well as such television movies as For Love and Glory and Not My Kid. She recently completed shooting the feature film The Enemy with The Triangle co-star Luke Perry.

Dorian Harewood is a television and movie veteran with close to 100 credits to his name. He earned an NAACP Image Award nomination for his role in The Hoop Life. Mr. Harewood has also had roles in Roots: The Next Generation, The Falcon and the Snowman, Full Metal Jacket and Pacific Heights.
