At KPMG, we provide several programmes to attract the best and brightest people.

In addition to our very active graduate-focused programme, KPMG offers a scholarship valued at $20,000 per annum for three years.

Awarded by the Partners of KPMG in Bermuda, this scholarship is given to a Bermudian student pursuing a career as a Charted Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

The response is typically very large, with more than 50 applications reviewed this year. A third of these candidates will progress to an interview stage.

Personality

While the scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to students towards the completion of an undergraduate degree, the selection committee focuses on academic achievement, personality, leadership and involvement in the community.

There are certain criteria that need to be met to be considered for this scholarship. These include:

• Maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0

• Possessing Bermudian status

• Attending an accredited university

• Following a discipline that leads toward an undergraduate degree.

Upon the successful completion of their undergraduate degree, the KPMG Scholarship also provides recipients with the opportunity to continue their studies toward a CA or CPA qualification within the company’s graduate programme.

Craig Bridgewater, KPMG partner, said: “The partners of KPMG in Bermuda are proud of the success of the KPMG Scholarship and the calibre of the candidates that it attracts each year.

“However this award provides more than just financial assistance.

“Scholarship recipients have the opportunity to receive on-the-job training, one-on-one mentoring and support with their professional examinations through the KPMG Graduate Programme.

“In doing so, KPMG in Bermuda ensures that every professional step taken by our recipients is well planned and supported.”

Talented and motivated university students who are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, service and academic achievement are encouraged to apply for an invitation to the future.
