The SunPower Solar Starter Kit can be purchased for $8,899.
AES is Bermuda’s only SunPower dealer/installer. SunPower Corporation last year broke the world record for solar cell power and efficiency with the launch of its Maxeon solar cell technology.
The all-back contact Maxeon solar cell captures up to 50 per cent more sunlight and also conducts more electrical current than conventional solar cells.

SunPower has incorporated the cell into its new 240 watt AC solar panels, utilizing micro-inverter technology.
The SunPower Solar Starter Kit consists of six SunPower 240 watt AC panels, a SunPower web-based monitoring kit, full installation and all Government fees. There is also a 25-year warranty.
The 1.44 kW system can produce up to 2,000 kWh (kilowatt hour) of energy per year.
Due to its efficiency the system only needs 80 sq ft of roof space so can be installed under a Permitted Development application instead of having to go through a DAP1.
AES will handle all of the permit and application process, providing a turn-key system, complete with a BELCO Net Meter and a SunPower web-based monitoring kit.
The monitoring system allows you to keep track of your energy production in real time from anywhere in the world, using your computer or smartphone.

In July, AES partnered with Butterfield Bank to offer Bermuda’s first financing deal for solar panels.

The EC recently stated that residential kWh consumption below 700 kWh will not be subjected to rate increases by BELCO.
