What does it mean to be literate for today’s students?

At Interactive Summer day Camp, your child will learn skills that will prepare them for new kinds of literacies beyond the basics of knowing how to read and write.

Network literacy, Global literacy, Information literacy, Media literacy, how to be a Digital Citizen, and how to Collaborate, communicate, create, connect to the world globally, and think critically.

Interactive Summer Day Camp caters for children from seven to 14 years.

They will develop these essential 21st century skills using specific web 2.0 sites, iPads, digital cameras, and computers.

Each week the students will focus on a particular Bermudian theme.

They will go on field trips related to the theme and learn about Bermuda’s rich history and development.

After each field trip they will return to the campsite and share their day’s experience by developing their personal experience with various iPad apps, and web 2.0 sites.

Throughout the week they will also have loads of fun in the sun by going swimming or fishing.

At Interactive Summer Camp they will also develop physical science concepts that are found in the Bermuda Public School’s Cambridge curriculum and also learn how they can help to sustain Bermuda’s environment through science.

At the Interactive 2012 Summer Camp your child will not only develop technical prowess, they will expand their critical thinking skills which are essential to living in this multimedia word.

They will enhance their basic literacy skills and demonstrate mastery unconsciously and smoothly. At Interactive Summer Camp your child’s mind will continuously stay active and sharp each day by developing each subject area in preparation for their 2012-2013 school year.
