Funding is available for your education from the ACE Foundation – Bermuda in the form of the Robert Clements/ACE Scholarship for students interested in pursuing a career in the insurance industry.

Internships within ACE are also available for successful candidates throughout the vacations during their period of study.

The Robert Clements/ACE Scholarship is designed for Bermudian students interested in pursuing careers in Bermuda’s international insurance industry.

The scholarship is awarded annually for up to four years to a qualified student studying full-time towards an undergraduate or graduate degree majoring in subjects related to the insurance industry at any accredited university worldwide.

Courses of study that are eligible include subjects such as corporate law, accounting, economics, insurance, risk management or actuarial science.

Students must be at least 18-years or older, possess a genuine desire to pursue a career in insurance, and meet the entrance requirements for their chosen university.

Now in its sixteenth year, The Robert Clements/ACE Scholarship was established in 1996 in celebration of ACE’s 10 years of successful business in Bermuda and in recognition of Mr. Clements’ contribution to the creation of the company in 1985.

Since formation, the scholarship has provided financial support to 20 Bermudian university students enabling them to pursue careers in the insurance industry.

Jacari Brimmer-Landy, the 2010 Robert Clements/ACE Scholarship recipient, was selected from the biggest ever pool of candidates with 43 students applying for the award.

Jacari, a graduate from Saltus Grammar School, started his studies at the Rotman Commerce Programme at the University of Toronto majoring in finance and economics in September.

He plans to pursue a career in corporate law on completion of his studies.

Although recipients are not required to work for ACE on completion of their studies, many of them have gone on to pursue careers in the company’s underwriting and actuarial departments.

ACE offers all scholarship recipients internship positions throughout the vacations during their period of study.
